Carbonation of Aggregates from Construction and Demolition Waste Applied to Concrete: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

The construction industry is essential to the development and economy, but also largest generator of demolition waste (CDW). While efforts are made minimize such generation, has been developing applications for it in form aggregates replace commonly used natural aggregates. However, structural applications, necessary ensure that properties concrete produced with CDW, as recycled (CDW-concrete), guarantee adequate performance do not put structure at risk. For this, one alternatives improving CDW through carbonation, a process called carbonate curing or accelerated carbonation. In this sense, paper aims investigate carbonation aggregates, clarifying how occurs, existing methods, main affect process, their influence on CDW-concrete. To end, SREE (systematic review engineering experiments) method was search analyze scientific manuscripts published without time limit. results revealed most widely recommended by Chinese standard GB50082, highlighted need further research CDW-concrete, focusing its eco-friendly potential capture CO2 from atmosphere.

The Efficiency of Hybrid BNN-DWT for Predicting the Construction and Demolition Waste Concrete Strength

The current study focuses on two main goals. First, with the use of construction and demolition (C&D) of building materials, a new aggregate was produced and it was utilized for green concrete production. The compressive strength test confirmed the good function of C&DW aggregate concrete. This concrete did not show significant differences with natural sand concrete. Second, Backpropagation neu...

Construction and demolition waste indicators.

The construction industry is one of the biggest and most active sectors of the European Union (EU), consuming more raw materials and energy than any other economic activity. Furthermore, construction waste is the commonest waste produced in the EU. Current EU legislation sets out to implement construction and demolition waste (CDW) prevention and recycling measures. However it lacks tools to ac...

Sustainable construction: construction and demolition waste reconsidered.

Construction activity in Europe has increased substantially in the past decade. Likewise, there has also been a commensurate rise in the generation of construction and demolition waste (C&DW). This, together with the fact that in many European countries the rate of recycling and reuse of C&DW is still quite low has engendered a serious environmental problem and a motivation to develop strategie...
